Battery Engineer – New Project STF

Location: Richmond, BC

  • Design PCB layout of complex multi-layer rigid boards, including DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Support embedded software engineers by providing verified system models
  • Develop AC and DC HV charging control strategies and requirements definition for global markets
  • Assemble models for verification of electric vehicle charging system for on and off-vehicle cloud systems
  • Design for compliance to safety requirements, global standards and regulations, diagnostics, EMI, and
    other specifications
  • Work with engineers across the company for technology improvements Develop test plans and lead
    technical reviews for compliance and safety


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 5+ years of work experience on battery design with power electronics (e.g., high voltage/current
    converters, inverters, etc.)
  • Must have product engineering experience in PCBA, electrical design solutions, building and testing highly
    reliable digital/analog circuits, & embedded systems
  • PCB schematics and comfortable with basic hardware tasks (soldering components, adding jumpers,
    harness wiring, etc.)
  • SW diagnosis, power distribution and control systems
  • Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings, analytical-based solid design skills, performing
    analysis, EMI design and testing
  • Extensive experience interfacing and managing external suppliers
